about

Long respected Lancashire based folk/roots singer songwriter Kath Reade releases a true breakthrough album. Her songs and vocals have the appeal of timeless folk classics.

Kath Reade was a surprise highlight of many northern summer folk festivals and gatherings this year as she debuted material from this - her first album on Splid Records. Kath has been locally revered for many years for her fine song writing (oft covered by other Lancastrian folk singers) and her captivating live delivery. She is a past holder of the Songwriters Cup which was presented by Jez Lowe at The Saltburn Festival.

With such acclaim and having been produced by multi instrumentalist and BBC Radio Leeds presenter David Crickmore (The Durbervilles), it's no surprise that a gamut of high calibre players based around her region have clamoured to appear with her on her nationally distributed disc including:

Damien Barber: vocals and concertina
Gordon Tyrrall: guitar vignettes
Sarah Smout (of Rosie Doonan's Snapdragons): cello
Ruth Wilde (Kit Holmes Trio / The Durbervilles): double bass
Emma Crickmore (ex-Wenchall): vocals
